Farmer and Newlywed Thriving After Protected PCI with Impella

Kenny Hlinsky is a lifelong farmer from Glennwood, MN. In 2025, Kenny experienced shortness of breath and fatigue. He visited his primary care physician who referred him to Dr. Stephen Kidd at CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital. Tests revealed multivessel disease but since he was not a candidate for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, Dr. Kidd recommended a Protected PCI procedure with ImpellaTM. In August 2025, Dr. Kidd implanted the Impella CPTM heart pump while placing stents and clearing multiple blockages. The next day, Kenny went home with his wife, Marlene.

Today, Kenny is back to farming his land and he and Marlene are spending the winter months in Gulf Shores, AL.
