DANVERS, Mass. (June 6, 2006)—ABIOMED, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABMD) announced today that its technologies to treat heart failure will be included in eight presentations at the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs’ (ASAIO) 52nd Annual Conference being held in Chicago from June 8-10. The ASAIO conference provides presentations from around the world to a diverse group of medical specialties.

Poster and oral presentations will include:

Thursday, June 8

  • “Uni-Ventricular Support Using an Extracardiac Assist Device,” at 4 pm.
  • “Extended Duration of Support on the AB5000 Ventricle Promotes Survival Outcomes,” from 5-6 pm.
  • “Fluid Dynamic Studies of a Polymetric Trileaflet Heart Valve,” from 5-6 pm.
  • “Initial Clinical Experience with the AbioCor Patient Carried Electronics (PCE) System,” from 5-6 pm.

Friday, June 9
