Travel by Car

(from Cologne via motorway A4, or Duesseldorf or Luettich via motorway A44)
Follow the signs to Antwerpen Heerlen via motorway A4 at the Aachen motorway junction.

Take the Aachen-Laurensberg exit (exit no. 2), turn right and follow the signs to Aachen-Laurensberg and the Uniklinik.

After about 6-700 meters (half a mile), turn right and follow the signs to Maastricht and the Uniklinik/RWTH.

Stay on the expressway until it ends, where you will turn right into Vaalser Straße at the traffic light at the end of the expressway.

At the very next traffic light, turn right into Neuenhofer Weg. Visitor parking spaces are in front of the building.

Coming from the Netherlands, take the A4 motorway immediately after the border, and follow the signs to Aachen.

Take the first exit after the border, Aachen-Laurensberg exit (exit no. 2), and proceed as described above.

Travel by Rail

Visitors arriving by rail should get off at the Aachen Hauptbahnhof (Main Station). A taxi takes 15 to 25 minutes depending upon traffic. Buses depart on route no. 3 every 15 minutes for the Uniklinik bus stop. If you travel by bus, get off at the Westfriedhof bus stop, which is roughly a 5 to 7 minute walk to Neuenhofer Weg 3.

Travel by Air

Aachen has favorable travel connections to 5 airports:

  Continuing travel time approximately 1¾ hours
• Mönchengladbach (Düsseldorf-Express-Airport)
  Continuing travel time approximately 1 hour .
• Düsseldorf (Rhein-Ruhr-Airport)
  Continuing travel time approximately 1 hour.
  A shuttle bus operates daily every 1½ hours starting at 7 a.m. from the Düsseldorf terminal to the Aachen bus station.
  From there, use bus route 5, 15, 25, 35 or 45 bound for the "Uniklinik" bus stop, and get off at the "Westfriedhof" bus stop which is roughly a 5 to 7 minute walk to Neuenhofer Weg 3.
• Cologne/Bonn (Konrad Adenauer Airport)
  Continuing travel time approximately 1 hour.
  A shuttle bus operates 4 times daily to the Aachen bus station. Reservations are required and can be booked by phoning +49-241-8182 0023.
  From there, use bus route 5, 15, 25, 35 or 45 bound for the "Uniklinik" bus stop, and get off at the "Westfriedhof" bus stop which is roughly a 5 to 7 minute walk to Neuenhofer Weg 3.
• Maastricht (Maastricht-Aachen Airport)
  Continuing travel time approximately ½ hour. Taking a taxi is the easiest way.
